CCM Verax has released its second occasional international newsletter (copy enclosed). The newsletter is sent to member church leaders of the Lutheran World Federation (LWF), to leaders of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), and to selected leaders in the Episcopal Church, USA.

Especially noteworthy in the Lent edition of the CCM Verax International Newsletter are:

Page 1 (lead article): "International Opposition to 'CCM Grand Deception' Grows"
Page 3 (feature article): "ELCA Presiding Bishop Hanson Challenged to Public Debate on CCM at LWF Assembly"

Editor's Note:

According to recent ELCA news releases, ELCA Presiding Bishop, Mark S. Hanson, considers himself to be a "moral leader" in society in his stance against war in Iraq. CCM Verax notes that this "moral leadership" apparently does not include addressing the "grand deception" used to advance and pass the controversial "full communion" agreement between the ELCA and the Episcopal Church, USA, entitled Called to Common Mission (CCM).

CCM was passed by the ELCA Churchwide Assembly in August 1999 and by the Episcopal Church's General Convention in July 2000. CCM came into effect on 1st January 2001.

Published research regarding the "grand deception" in CCM has been ignored by ELCA officials and also by many (but not all) LWF leaders.

CCM Verax exists to tell the truth about Called to Common Mission, the ecumenical agreement between the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and the Episcopal Church in the USA.
