CCM VERAX INFORMATION BULLETIN

Date: 06 January 2002 (Epiphany Day)

Topic: ELCA PARISHES INFORMED OF ECUMENICAL GRAND DECEPTION
[Editor's Note: Around 06 January 2002 (Epiphany Day), the following message was sent by a team of CCM Verax volunteers to parishes of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) across the United States. The email messages asks ELCA parish members to study documents relating to the ecumenical grand deception in Called to Common Mission (CCM), the ecumenical agreement between the ELCA and the Episcopal Church in the USA. The goal of the campaign is to facilitate a "grassroots" dissemination of the information discussed. The text of the email messages was as follows:]

"Email Subject Heading: CCM Verax: Could you please help?

Dear Friends in Christ,

I am contacting you to ask for your help (not financial) regarding a very important church matter.

No one likes to be deceived. So, how might you feel if you found out that your church had not been wholly honest with you? How would you feel if you discovered that a small falsehood had grown so large and had got so wide spread that officials in your church began to ignore it? If you think that this would be impossible, then please continue to read.

Research to be published in the theological journal Logia (January, 2002) together with an accompanying web site show that exactly this has happened in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).

What has happened?

Basically, it has been discovered that the ecumenical agreement between the ELCA and the Episcopal Church, entitled Called to Common Mission (CCM), is built on a conscious suppression of the truth. As a result, the ELCA membership has wrongfully been misled into accepting episcopalian structures rejected by the Lutheran Reformers.

Why is this so important?

For Martin Luther, Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). Having truth in the church was a primary reason for the Lutheran Reformation. Luther states that even one lie in the church will turn a church into something contrary to Jesus Christ. Because of the falsehoods in CCM, the ELCA is now living a lie which calls its very existence into question.

Can you help, please?

In a church with no checks and balances, like the ELCA, only widespread communication of the truth can address the fallacies in CCM. That is why you are so important.

To help, I ask only three things of you:

1. Please take time to read and study the facts about CCM on the CCM Verax web site (verax is Latin for "speaking truthfully")? The CCM Verax is on the Internet at - http://www.ccmverax.org

2. Please forward this email (or communicate its contents) to everyone in your congregation and also to other ELCA congregations in your area so that they too might know what has happened to their church.

3. Please pray that the truth about CCM will become widely known in the ELCA because a church which does not tell the truth cannot credibly make Christ known.

Yours faithfully,
Pastor Mark Menacher, PhD
